An indoor soccer tournament will be held February 27th and 28th in Traverse City to benefit victims of the Haiti earthquake.
“Futsal 4 Haiti”
is sponsored by Grand Traverse Soccer League and the American Red Cross
held at the former Norris Elementary School.
Futsal is an indoor version of soccer played on a hard court with a special “low bounce” ball and 5 players on a team. The game is played extensively in South America, Europe and the Caribbean and is the latest soccer craze to come to the US.
The cost is of tournament is $20 per player and all proceeds will go the Red Cross relief efforts in Haiti. Youth games will be played on Saturday and adult games on Sunday.
