All-NorthStar Picnic takes place in mid-August and is a big potluck party where all the teams and all the parents come together and break bread and socialize.  We have a very short program after we eat (food is ALWAYS first!) where the “State of NorthStar” is presented. The parents then meet face-to-face with their coaches in team meetings to talk about the upcoming fall season and take care of any organizational details that arise.  While the parents and coaches do this, the NorthStar Buddies meeting takes place and then the oldest NorthStar team runs a fun soccer event – of their choosing and design – with all the teams.

The NorthStar Winter Banquet  is held the first Sunday evening in March and, once again, brings all the teams, parents and coaches together.  We start with a potluck dinner – breaking bread together – and then have a organized program that begins with a short “State of NorthStar” talk, continues with the awarding of our only two club-wide recognitions:

Pursuit of Excellence Award that goes the to the parent volunteer most representative of the NorthStar mission

Pursuit of Educational Excellence Award which goes to the NorthStar team with the highest average team GPA.  Following these short presentations the graduating seniors each speak briefly about their NorthStar experience and then we watch slide shows created for and by each team and the players receive their annual NorthStar year pins. These are the only individual player awards other than special gifts for the graduating seniors.
