NorthStar Academy Winter Camp

The NorthStar Academy Winter Camp  has been offered since 1994.  Parents have appreciated the benefit of having their daughters coached and mentored by the NorthStar players/coaches during the winter months. 

The Winter's Academy Camp  is six  (6) Friday evenings starting mid January and continues through February.  All sessions are typically held at Just For Kicks Sports.

The NorthStar players take special joy in nurturing and mentoring these young girls in an atmosphere of fun and growth.  Your daughter will leave these sessions not just a better player but with a smile on her face and a deepened appreciation for her own skills.

Participants will be coached in technical areas, such as effective receipt of balls, and tactical application of team shape and combination play.  Each session will have a specific topic which will be demonstrated at the start of the session and coached by NorthStar staff during competitive play.   

Academy Staff                                           

Your daughter will play with and be coached by older NorthStar players who are not only tremendous soccer players (many with state-wide recognition) but, to a person, honor roll students, school leaders, and excellent role models of maturity, dedication, and integrity.  These girls are shining examples of teenage achievement. 

They are the heart and soul of NorthStar. 

 

Head Coach

Darrell Rogers is a nationally certified soccer coach (through the United States Soccer Federation) with extensive experience coaching premier-level girl’s soccer from U12 through college. Coach Rogers, the NorthStar staff coaches and the NorthStar players have created and will oversee sessions designed to develop players in all four elements of the game: technical, tactical, physical and psychological.  These coaches will have high expectations and set high standards for every player on their team.  Your daughter will learn the same skills using the same systems taught to the NorthStar players. 

                                                  

Equipment

Your daughter should come equipped with indoor soccer shoes or good athletic shoes, shin guards, and socks that cover shin guards.
