NorthStar soccer club was formed in 1994 to provide opportunities for dedicated soccer players from throughout northwest lower Michigan to take their game to the highest levels. To this end the club has traveled extensively to seek out the best competition and instruction available in the United States. NorthStar teams have many tournament and league championships to their credit, including Premier League championships. NorthStar players have been selected to Michigan Olympic Development Program (ODP) teams every year since the inception of the club. To date, over seventy NorthStar players have gone on to play post-high school sports at NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA schools throughout the United States. See the NorthStar Alumni page to view some of these players!

“Simply put, our philosophy is the pursuit of excellence. Competition is fierce to be part of the club and within the club rewards and accolades come from work, dedication, behavior, and achievement. We help develop our players as people first, players second, and competitors third. We expect excellence in all aspects of our players’ lives, and we’re always raising the bar.” (Click here for complete NorthStar Philosophy statement. )

If the Board denies a player’s written request for an alternative tryout, the Directors will provide an explanation to that player or her parent(s).

NorthStar Coaches are continually striving to upgrade their knowledge and skills to bring  technical and tactical, mental and physical skills to the players, allowing them to reach the next level.
